John E. Tackett

John E. Tackett, age 67, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on May 25, 1949 in Antigo, the youngest son of Roscoe and Helen (Fultz) Tackett. On July 8, 1978 he married Debra (Preuss) Budd in Fond du Lac. John worked for forty-one years at Mercury Marine retiring in 2009.



John was a member of Eagles Aerie #270. He enjoyed shooting trap, playing pool, bowling, going on hunting trips to Wyoming with his buddies, sturgeon spearing, turkey and deer hunting at Stormy Acres, fishing, playing cards, watching westerns, and most of all enjoyed spending time with family and attending his grandchildren’s activities. John was an avid Packer, Badger, and Brewers fan.



Survivors include his wife Debbie of Fond du Lac; two daughters, Kris Tackett of Fond du Lac, LeAnne (Mike) Karls of Chilton; two granddaughters, Koralyn and Callie Karls; two brothers, Sam (Pearl) Tackett of Fond du Lac, Rocky (Shirley) Tackett of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Baerenwald of Sun Prairie, Darlene Preuss of New London; he will be sadly missed by many other relatives and friends who are considered family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother in law; two brothers, Bob and Mike; one sister-in-law, LaVonne Rost; and many other family members and great friends.



Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 4-7 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery.
