John G. Gottinger

John G. Gottinger, 90, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born March 3, 1918, in Milwaukee, the son of Johann and Katherine Sammer Gottinger. On June 5, 1945, he married Isabelle A. "Issy" Kiekhaefer in Boston. She preceded him in death on July 13, 1999. American Standard Corporation formerly employed Mr. Gottinger as an industrial lighting representative for over 20 years. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the 5th Army/12th Air Force as a photoreconnaissance photographer. John was a member of Elks Lodge #57. He enjoyed collecting coins and antiques.Surviving are his loving children, Kathryn (Michael) Lodes of New Holstein, and Nancy (Gregory) Borst and Mark (Ellen) Gottinger, both of Fond du Lac. He was the proud grandfather of Mariann Amundson of Minneapolis, MN, Lori (Jesse Albers) Lodes of Green Bay, Jeffrey (Jamie) Lodes of Kaukauna, Jennifer (Shawn) Demaskie and Michael (Dawn) Gottinger both of Fond du Lac, and twin granddaughters, Rita (Fiancé' Chris Birling) and Valerie Borst of Fond du Lac; seven great-grandchildren, Joey Borst and Alex Dill, both of Fond du Lac, Zachary and Morgan Demaskie, Ashley, Hayley, and Isabel Gottinger, and Hudson Albers. A sister, Hildegarde Beckman of Cedarburg, WI, and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Pike of Sun Prairie, and Marion Schuenemann of West Bend further survive him. His parents and wife preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. John G. Gottinger will be on Thursday, April 24, 2008, from 11 am to 2 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2 pm at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Rosenberg will officiate and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
