John H. “Jack” Raube, Jr., died Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on June 14, 1943, a son of John and Helen (Klaske) Raube, Sr.
Jack spent his early years growing up on the family farm in Brandon, Wis. He was a 1961 graduate of Brandon H.S. and then attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where he played football until being called to serve his country in the military. From 1964-1966, Jack served in the U.S. Army both stateside and in Germany. Most recently, he worked for Mercury Marine as a Die Caster, retiring in 2008. He was a very spiritual man seeing only the best in people. He was also a good friend of “Bill” and a member of the Gratitude Club of Fond du Lac.
Jacks family was very important to him. His ten grandchildren meant the world to him. Jack enjoyed fishing and woodworking and making people happy by giving them gifts he made. He was always there to help others and would give anyone his help. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores “Laurie” Reiswitz-Raube; his son, Chad Raube (Nicholla) and their children, Coco, Dakota, Memphis and Boe; his daughters, Rebecca Raube (Kirk) and Michelle Raube (Cindy); Jon Bass (Chrissy) and their children, Jordy and Casey; and four additional grandchildren, Blake, Grant, Weston and Layla. Jack is further survived by his sister, Janice (Jerry) Ott. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn; brother, David; Aunts Marie, Leona, Anne, Verna and Margaret; and uncles, Bill, Hank, Ervin, Reinhold and Edwin.
Visitation for Jack will be held Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 8, 2016, 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 271 4th St. Way in Fond du Lac. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fond du Lac. Following Mass, military honors will be presented by the American Legion, Trier-Puddy Post #75.
