John H. Kuhlenbeck, 82, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born June 16, 1924 in Chicago, the son of Hilton and Carrie Trapp Kuhlenbeck. John was a veteran of the U.S. Air Corps, serving from 1943-1945. He flew over the Baltic Region including Egypt and Germany as a Ball Turet Gunner. On April 27, 1946 he married Audrey E. Chatham at St. Boniface Church in Milwaukee. He worked for Telsmith Company of Milwaukee as a shipping and receiving foreman for 39 ½ years retiring in 1986. John was a member of Holy Family Parish "“ Sacred Heart Church. He was treasurer of AARP 614 of Fond du Lac. John enjoyed woodworking especially making birdhouses, reading Louis L' Amour books, fishing and camping. SURVIVORS: his wife Audrey E. Kuhlenbeck, Fond du Lac; five children, Craig (Sue) Kuhlenbeck, Pewaukee, Terry (Bridget) Kuhlenbeck, Germantown, Linda (Dennis) Day, Germantown, Janet (Niel) Schueller, Fond du Lac, Richard (Linda) Kuhlenbeck, Germantown; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Carol) Kuhlenbeck, Pleasanton, CA; four sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. John was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nancy and Sandy.
VISITATION: Sunday, April 29, 2007 from 2 to 5 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 30, 2007 at Holy Family Parish "“ Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Patrick Heppe officiating. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military rites. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
