John O. "Jack" Behnke

December 22, 1932 — November 16, 2012

John "Jack" O. Behnke, 79 of Lamartine, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Fond du Lac on December 22, 1932 the son of John and Ellen Kobs Behnke. On June 23, 1956 he married Kathleen Gannon at St. Joseph's Church, Fond du Lac. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army 187th Airborne from 1952-55 serving as a paratrooper. John was employed with Oshkosh Truck for 35 years working as personnel director and plant manager. He was a member of Our Risen Saviour Catholic Church, Woodhull. John was one of the founders of the North Fond du Lac Boy's Baseball League and coached for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his children and grandchildren in all of their sports.SURVIVORS: wife Kathy Behnke, his children, Jeffery (Linda) Behnke, Craig (Vicky) Behnke, Rick (Joan) Behnke, Steven (Belinda) Behnke, Kim (Randy) Dean, grandchildren Ryan and Alyssa Behnke, Daniel and Amanda Behnke, Jon and Jake Dean. John is further survived by his sister Joan DeClue, one brother Doug (Grace) Behnke,and John's black lab Cody. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Arthur (Beatrice) Ganno, and a brother-in-law David DeClue.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Tuesday November 20, 2012 from 3 to 6 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Reverend John Simon officiating.
