John R. Hoey

John R. Hoey, 86, of Fond du Lac, passed away at Liberty House in Fond du Lac on Friday, April 11, 2014. John was born in Fond du Lac on October 20, 1927, a son of Stanley Vincent and Erna A. (Kleineshay) Hoey. On March 28, 1942 John married Ruth Alice Cotter in Fond du Lac.John served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII from 1945 to 1947. Mr. Hoey was a proud member of The Pope & Young Club, an avid Brewers fan and always made it home in time for Wheel of Fortune. He is survived by three children; Kathie Flood of Fond du Lac, Peggy (Robert) Possin of Fond du Lac, John (Judy) Hoey, of North Fond du Lac; grandchildren Trinity (Michael Fish) Flood, Eric (Erin) Flood, Brian Possin, and Kelly (William) Becktold. John is further survived by his great-grandchildren; Samuel Flood, Cooper Becktold and William Flood, along with other special family members; Mark Flood, Travis (Jennifer) Giese and Charlie Rose Giese. Preceding John in death were his parents, wife Ruth and brother Eugene Hoey.



A private family memorial will be held in Johns honor following cremation. John's family is grateful to the staff at Liberty House and Heartland Hospice Services for the care they gave John and the family. The family would also like to thank Don and Linda Bier of Fond du Lac.
