John W. "Jack" Stiedaman

John W. "Jack" Stiedaman, 88, formerly of 804 S. Park Avenue and currently a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012. He was born May 24, 1923, in Fond du Lac, the son of Emery and Alice Whinfield Stiedaman. Jack was a life time member of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul. On February 21, 1947, he married Yvonne Romberg in Fond du Lac and she preceded him in death on May 24, 1977. He later married Jane Capelle on August 14, 1982. She preceded him in death on November 23, 2000. From 1954 until his retirement in 2002, he owned and operated Jack's Lock and Gun Shop. A veteran of WW II, Jack served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Elks Lodge #57, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, and member and past president of the Wisconsin Locksmiths Association. Surviving is a son, John E. (Carol) Stiedaman of Fond du Lac, a daughter, Katherine (Richard) Dern of Fitchburg, WI, step children Nan Kalk, Jay (Mona) Capelle, and Suzanne (Keith) Whitmore; three grandchildren, Jerry (Sara Lafler) Stiedaman, Jeff(Kasi) Stiedaman, and Jessica Dern, six step-grandchildren, Aimee (Andrew) Hanyzewski , Chris, Gina (Jeff) Lese, Annie , Matthew, and Rebecca (Jim) Linton, three -great-grandchildren, Maddie, Cami, and Avery, and four step-great-grandchildren, Olivia, Noah, Gracie Mae, and Casey. His parents and both wives preceded him in death. One step son in law Jim also preceded him.



Visitation for John W. "Jack" Stiedaman will be on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 51 W. Division Street, Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial services will be at 12 Noon at the Cathedral. The Very Rt. Rev. Keith Whitmore will officiate and burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery at 3 PM Saturday. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Endowment Fund of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul or the charity of the donor's choice.
