John W. Rafferty

John W. Rafferty, 65, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, October 17, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Thomas and Irene (Thome) Rafferty. John grew up in Massachusetts, where his love for the ocean began.



After high school graduation he attended Rice University in Houston, TX where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978. He received his Master of Science in 1981 from University of Minnesota and later attended Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota becoming a CRNA in 2003. John was currently employed with St. Agnes Hospital as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.



John enjoyed photography, gardening, sailing, cooking, fireworks, and biking. He also enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean and especially loved Puerto Rico. He loved the ocean and walks on the beach with his best friend, Luke, an obstinate Great Dane. Most importantly, John lived his life for others and especially for his wife, children and grandchildren.



John was very good with his patients and always told them, that while under his care they were the most important person to him.



He is survived by his wife; two children; two grandchildren; one brother; one sister; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
