Jolene Kay Fuchs, 59, of 186 W. 12th Street died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at her residence. She was born October 10, 1948, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Robert C. and Mae A. Hoyer Kastenschmidt. On April 26, 1985, she married Robert C. Fuchs in Fond du Lac. Jolene was formerly employed by Rolling Meadows Nursing Home as a Nurses Aid for 37 years, retiring in 2007. She grew up in Rosendale and had been a Fond du Lac resident since her 18th birthday. She enjoyed fishing and playing with her grandchildren. Jolene was co-founder of several ministries aiding individuals in the United States and in 15 countries overseas. Surviving is her husband, Robert, one daughter, Michelle (Mike Konkol) Hammang of Fond du Lac, two sons, Chad Ziegler of Rome, WI, and Mark (Amy) Ziegler of Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, Ashley, Alicia, Shane, Nathan, Katlyn, and Joshua. Further surviving is her father, Robert Kastenschmidt of Rosendale, three sisters, twin sister Carlene (David) Brown of Festus, MO, LaCinda Stanfield of Hugo, OK, and Leatrice (Don) Cronk of Lowell, AR, and three brothers, Marlin (Sandy) Kastenschmidt of Fond du Lac, Leonard (Brenda) Kastenschmidt of Honor, MI, and Gordon (Kesha) Kastenschmidt of Casper, WY. Her mother, Mae Kastenschmidt, a sister, Marleece Frerick, and a granddaughter, Brittany Hammang preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be at 10 AM on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home following a private family visitation. Pastor Michael Hein will officiate. Cremation has taken place. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jolene's name to aid children with life-threatening illnesses.
