Joseph H. Koenigs

Joseph H. Koenigs, age 89, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Deerview Meadows Assisted Living. He was born on August 22, 1917 in Taycheedah the son of Fred and Hanora (Mand) Koenigs. Joe served in the United States Army during World War II from April 3, 1945 to February 1, 1946. On March 26, 1940 he married Pearl Parish at St. Mary's Rectory. She preceded him in death on April 16, 1971. On December 23, 1972 he married Viola Fergins in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on December 28, 1996. Joe worked from several bottle gas companies including Lindner's of Calumetville. He also worked for Harmer's Cab Co. Joe's favorite job however was working as a bagger at Copps' Grocery Store in Fond du Lac. Joe was a very hard worker and a very good provider for his family. He enjoyed playing cards especially sheepshead.SURVIVORS: daughters, Barbara (Eugene) Thill of Fond du Lac, Shirley Williams of Waukesha, Linda (Terry) Huelsman of Ripon, son, Roney Koenigs of Florida, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons, sister, Mary Chapin of Fond du Lac, brother, Francis (Elaine) Koenigs of Brookfield, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, son Joseph F. Koenigs, granddaughter and her husband Terry and Bill Lorzen, great-grandson TJ Koenigs, two brothers, Michael and Herman.



VISITATION: Monday, March 19, 2007 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Monday, March 19, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Sr. Ann Jude officiating. Burial will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery.The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Deerview Meadows for the loving care they gave to "Joey".
