Joseph W. "Joe" Eggers

Joseph W. “Joe” Eggers, 83, of Fond du Lac, peacefully went to heaven surrounded by his family on Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on April 9, 1934 to Joseph and Marie (Hunke) Eggers. On July 15, 1961, Joe married Judith “Judy” Kollmann in Oakfield.



Joe loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap shooting, gardening and playing cards. Earlier in his life, he farmed. He would eventually work for and retire from Mayville Engineering. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army.



He is survived by his wife, Judy; a daughter, Jenny (Randy) Martel of Beaver Dam; three grandchildren, Ryan, Kelsey and Kayla; one brother, James (Gloria) of Oak Center; eight sisters, Josephine Priepke of North Fond du Lac, Anna (Tom) Wells of Viola, Pauline (Emil) Ronning of Fond du Lac, Patricia Moses of Fond du Lac, Elaine (Don) Steger of Kewaskum, Grace (Leo) Clark of Waupun, Mary Hilbert of Brandon and Arlene (Alfred) Wiese of Theresa.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie; three brothers, Terrance, David (Helen) and an infant brother, Michael; four sisters, Gladys Gotautis, Joyce (Harold) Schlefke, Kathy (Larry) Zentner and an infant sister, Christine; four brothers-in-law, David Priepke, Ed Moses, James Hilbert and Earl Schaefer; and nephews, Gregory Hilbert and Robert Mielkie.



Visitation for Joe will be held from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM. Cremation has taken place and private family burial in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery will follow at a later date.
