Josephine A. "Jo" FarisJosephine A. "Jo" Faris, 97, formerly of 127 Chestnut Street, died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at ManorCare Nursing Home. She was born March 3, 1910, in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of Samuel L. and Mariam Karam David. On July 11, 1932, she married James L. Faris at St. Patrick's Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2001. Mrs. Faris was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church. For many years, she volunteered for the St. Agnes Hospital Auxiliary, and as a secretary for St. Louis Parish. Surviving are three sons; Tommy C. (Marilyn) Faris and Jerome Faris, both of Fond du Lac, and David (Kathy) Faris of Green Bay, a daughter, Carol "Bunny" (John) Gormican of St. Peter, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers; Daniel (Marlene) Richards of Milwaukee, and Edward (Mim) Richards of Ohio, and two sisters; Helen Paduano of California, and Evelyn (David) Baltz of Nevada. Her parents, husband, and three brothers, David, Fred, and Louis, preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Josephine A. "Jo" Faris will be on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, from 9 to 11 am at St. Mary's Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Tuesday at the church. The Rev. Victor Capriolo of Holy Family Parish will officiate and entombment will be in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
