Josephine A. Steinbarth, 96, formerly of 106 Ray Street, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Harbor Haven Suites where she had resided for the past year. She was born March 8, 1912, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of William P. and Pauline M. Werner Steinbarth. Miss Steinbarth was formerly employed by Wells Manufacturing for 34 years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church. Josephine enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, traveling, puzzles, and playing bingo. Surviving are four nieces, Joyce (Carl) Frazier of Fond du Lac, Jo Ann (Dan) Mrozek of Arlington Heights, IL, Jean (Jim) Lapine, Jr. of Fond du Lac, and Mary Jo Gahan of Port Washington, WI, a nephew, George (Mary Ann) Scott of Fond du Lac, other nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Her parents, three sisters, Catherine Jean Farina, Pauline Scott, and Amelia Schubert, and four brothers, Arthur, William, Herman, and Louis Steinbarth, a very special niece, Elizabeth Anderson, and a special friend, Stella Smith, preceded her in death.
Visitation for Miss Josephine A. Steinbarth will be on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, from 3 to 7 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of The Word for Christian Burial services will be at 7 pm at the funeral home on Wednesday. Cremation will follow the services with inurnment to take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be directed to Agnesian Hospice or Harbor Suites.
