Josephine E. Goebel

Josephine E. (Thompson) Goebel, was embraced into the Lord's hands on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Hospice Home of Hope surrounded by her family. She was born on January 17, 1932 in Eden, the daughter of John and Mathilda Thompson. On April 12, 1950 she married Leonard J. Goebel at St. Mary's Church, Eden. Together they farmed and raised seven children. Josephine also worked at Mercury Marine for thirty years. She enjoyed baking, gardening flowers, feeding birds, and caring for her grandchildren. She had a spirited smile and loving manner.SURVIVORS: her husband of fifty-nine years, Leonard James Goebel, four daughters, Sharon (Ron Bille) Goebel of Fond du Lac, Carol (Jerry) Triatik of Orlando, FL, Mary Jo (James) Kruck of Fond du Lac, Linda (Bill) Reitz of Rosendale, and two sons, Thomas (Mary) Goebel of Fond du Lac, Ronald (Kim) Goebel of Fond du Lac, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister, Frances (John) Casetta of Wittenburg, several brother and sisters in law, and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Leroy J. Goebel, her parents, John and Mathilda Thompson, three sisters, Kathryn Hahn, Vivien Coenen, and Marie Birschbach, one brother, John Thompson, special lifelong friend, Evelyn Nelson, and several brother and sisters in law.



VISITATION: Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 9:30-11:00 A.M. at Presentation of the B.V.M. Church, 705 Michigan Ave, North Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Presentation of the B.V.M. Church with the Reverend John Simon officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.Special thank you and appreciations to Dr. Michael Jones and Elaine F., Hospice Home of Hope, Linda K., Jenny T., Sara S., friends and family for their support and care.
