Jovita A. "Jova" Borth, 64 of 233 West Follett Street, died Sunday, September 17,2006 at her residence. She was born in Fond du Lac on November 10,1941 the daughter of Joseph and Clotilde Vera Torres. On April 27,1968 she married Donald J. Borth at St. Mary's Church, Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on May 29,2002. Jovita worked at Wells Manufacturing for over 40 years. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary No.9274 of Falls Church, Virginia. Member of the Eagles Aerie 270 Ladies Auxiliary, the UAW Local 646 where she held many positions including Union President, Steward, and Vice President. She was former President of the Marquis Drum and Bugle Corps Booster Club from 1994-95. She was former President of the Mexican-American Club, former coach of the Wilber Pfeifer Women's Softball team in the 1960's and the Stretch Motel Ladies Softball team. She enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables, hot peppers, fruit trees, grocery shopping all over for deals, she loved to cook and make up new recipes on old favorites like summer salad. She also enjoyed fishing and ice fishing, being with family and going to family parties, bowling, watching the Green Bay Packers, watching old movies, westerns, musicals, or anything with Cary Grant, forensic and cop shows, loved her dog "Peanuts" whom she called her boy and her cat "Baby Girl". She had a deep devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. She loved going out to dinner with friends, snowmobiling, camping, drinking beer, brandy old fashioned, and pizza and pepsi. She had a great respect of people, nature, and anyone who might have needed a friend and never asked for payment except to help someone else who may have needed it. SURVIVORS: one son, Marcial "Marc" Borth of Fond du Lac, four brothers, Refugio "Fudge" (Mary Ann) Torres of Fond du Lac, Rey (Pat) Torres of Fond du Lac, Michael (Sue) Torres of Fond du Lac, Ponce Torres of Fond du Lac, four sisters, Helen Wischnefski of Fond du Lac, Ines "Agnes" Kerch of Falls Church, VA, Carmen (Mike) French of Fond du Lac, Josephine "Jo" (Paul) Pade of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Olivia (Roger) Gonzalez of Fond du Lac, special friends, Dolly Schneider of Fond du Lac, Kenneth Sonnenberg of Fond du Lac, thirty six nieces and nephews,brother in law, Bill (Dolores) Borth of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald J. Borth, brothers-in-law Bruce Wischneski and Richard Kerch.
VISITATION: Wednesday, September 20, 2006 from 3-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 8:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Hospice Hope or the American Cancer Society.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
