Joyce A. Beck, 67 of Oakfield, died Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. She was born in Campbellsport on December 13, 1954, to Edward and Marian “Toots” (Treiber) Runge. Joyce graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1973 and on July 31, 1976, she married Ronald O. Beck at St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield.
Joyce spent a number of years working in the medical field, as the Oakfield Town Treasurer, and as a helper at the Oakfield Childcare Center. She devoted forty plus years of her life to being a country farm wife. Joyce and Ron took great pride in the 240 acre farm they owned and operated just outside of Oakfield, consisting of 120 Holstein cattle. Joyce was famous for cooking feast style family meals almost every night of the week to properly nourish her hard working “farmer boys.” She would spend her leisure time out in a boat fishing in Canada and northern Wisconsin, sitting in front of her roaring fireplace or out on her porch watching the sun go down taking in the evening art that God created. Joyce held an extra special place in her heart for two small cabins in the woods on peaceful lakes in northern Wisconsin. She also enjoyed spending weekends with her good friends Bob and Becky at NorthStar Casino taking in all the activities and having good laughs.
Joyce devoted the final years of her life to her three grandchildren. She took special pride in ensuring that they were overly spoiled by having plenty of snacks, toys and fun activities available to them. And she helped engrain the proper level of kindness and respect in them.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Ronald; two sons, Ben Beck and Dustin (Miranda) Beck of Oakfield; three beautiful grandchildren, Collin, Logan, and Delaney; four siblings, David (Sandie) Runge of Menomonee Falls, Jane (Ronald) Furlong of Plymouth, Minn., Donald (Alice) Runge and Gary (Pauline) Runge, all of Fond du Lac; and two sisters-in-law, Sherri (Mike) Kelly of De Pere and Brenda (Cory) Towne of Eldorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, John; her father and mother-in-law, Owen and Lillian Beck; and a sister in law, Sue Runge.
A private family service will be held to honor Joyce. Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Froedtert Hospitals in West Bend and Milwaukee for their loving care and devotion to her and the family over the last few years.
