Judith M. Kain, 74, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Grancare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her family after a short, but very courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 15, 1938, at her home in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Leonard and Lucille Brandt Schwartz. She was a 1957 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. On May 14, 1960, she married Patrick R. Kain at Sacred Heart Chapel. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1989. In 1957, she started employment with A.C. Nielsen and continued until 1976, when she went to work for Red Owl until 1986. She was then employed by Kelly Company for five years, and later joined Giddings & Lewis and retired in 1999, after 13 years of service. In addition to her employments, she sold Avon products for over 25 years. Judith was an Original Taylor Maid of Taylor Park Pool from 1955 to 1957, and was a proud member of TPU (Taylor Park University). She was a member of St. Louis and St. Mary's Choirs, Secretary of bowling leagues at the old Arcade Bowling Lanes. Judith was a member of Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church and belonged to the Bereavement Committee and Christian Women's group at Holy Family.Surviving are three children, Michael (Barb) Kain, Colleen (Michael) Mueller, and Larry (Janice) Kain, all of Fond du Lac, and three grandchildren Timothy (Fiancé' Letty Walter) Mueller of Oshkosh, John Patrick and McKenna Kain both of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by two sisters, Dolores Raab and Bonnie Dyksinski, both of Fond du Lac. Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends, including Barb Schuppe Toney of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, father and mother-in-law Carroll and Katherine Ross, Mary Grace and Donald Hettwer, four brothers-in-law, Carroll Kain, Edward Kain, Thomas Raab, and Vincent Dyksinski, Sr., a godchild David Raab, and nieces Valerie Dyksinski, Stacey Sweeney, and Kitty Roehrig.
Visitation for Judith M. Kain will be on Sunday, September 8, 2013, from 12 noon to 4 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Monday, September 9th, from 9:30 to 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 678 Western Avenue, Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
