Julia Koziol, 90, passed away on March 28, 2009, at Saint Francis Nursing Home. Julia was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 11, 1919, the daughter of Peter and Catherine Jezior Ciebien. On September 27, 1941, she married Thaddeus A. Koziol. Thaddeus preceded her in death on February 28, 1989. Julia worked for many years at Bankers Life & Casualty Insurance Company in Chicago. After living many years in Chicago, she moved to Bristol, Wisconsin, and then moved to Fond du Lac in 1998. She spent her last years close to her family while residing at St. Clare Terrace, St. Francis Terrace, Serenity Circle, and St. Francis Nursing Home. Julia greatly appreciated the wonderful and kind care she received, and truly enjoyed the dear friendships she developed at the Saint Francis Complex. Julia was a person who deeply loved her family, and was very proud of her Polish ancestry. She was a woman of strong faith who believed true joy comes from helping people, especially those most in need. Julia is survived by one daughter, Kathleen (Lee) Rasmussen, and three granddaughters, Jennifer Chamberlain, Alison Chamberlain, and Jill Chamberlain (fiance, Daniel Barker); one sister-in-law, Wanda Pereczky; two brothers-in-law, Casimir Gocek and Chester Koziol; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.Julia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Marie Moskal, Helen Gocek, and Victoria Pedryc; four brothers, John Ciebien, Stanley Ciebien, Michael Ciebien, andRichard Ciebien; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ciebien, Betty Ciebien,Ann Koziol; three brothers-in-law, John Moskal, Joseph Koziol, and Walter Pedryc; and one nephew, Dennis Koziol.



Visitation The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Francis Chapel, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac, WI, on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.Services The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at St. Francis Chapel, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac, WI. Father Joseph Wolf O.F.M. CAP will Officate. Uecker - Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and isassisting the family in Fond du Lac, WI. Burial Services The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Saint Adalbert Cemetery, 6800 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles, Illinois for Burial Services on Friday, April 3, at 11:00 am. Please meet at Saint Adalbert's Cemetery. The Walter L. Sojka Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and assisting the family in the Chicago area.Memorials in Julia's name may be directed to the Employee Fund of St. Francis Home, St. Agnes Hospice Hope, and the Alzheimer's Association.The family extends deepest gratitude to the administration and staff of St. Francis Nursing Home, Serenity Circle, St. Francis Terrace, St. Clare Terrace, and St. Agnes Hospital Hospice Hope for the extraordinary and compassionate care given to Julia. They also want to express great appreciation for the love, respect, and dignity that Julia received throughout the years she resided at the Saint Francis Complex. And, also, many thanks for the compassion and support given to Julia's family as they journeyed with Julia during her time in Fond du Lac.
