June Arlene (Teela) Kelm was born November 28, 1926 to Rosabelle (Bilderback) and David E. Teela in Ripon, WI. She died on December 10, 2006 at St. Agnes Hospital. She attended Ripon Schools and graduated from Ripon High School in 1944. During the World War II days she worked after school and Saturdays for Kohl Hardware and Furniture Store in Ripon, as a part-time office and sales person. Some evenings she worked at the canning factory. She came from a family of nine children, five brothers and three sisters.On June 8, 1946 she married Gerhard W. Kelm at Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Ripon. They made their home in Green Lake, WI and raised two children, Sandra and Gerhard Jr. One child, Kathleen June, died shortly after birth in February, 1953.She worked for Fabriko, Inc as a secretary for five years before moving in 1961. In Green Lake she was a charter member of the Ladies Chamber of Commerce. She was also a charter member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Ripon. After her husband's ill health, they moved to Camp Shaginappi in Malone in 1961. She then was employed at the USDA ASCS office in Fond du Lac, administering farm programs, where she worked for twenty-five years. In Fond du Lac she was a member of the National Secretaries Association. After thirty-five years of marriage, Gerhard passed away on February 8, 1982. June married Lyle Messner on July 2, 1983. He passed away in November of 1990. She was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Town of Forest.SURVIVORS: her daughter, Sandra (George) Loehr of Dotyville, her son, Gerhard (Mary) Kelm of St. Peter, seven grandchildren, Kristine (Jason) Jobs of Markesan, Kevin (Jenny) Loehr of Dotyville, Kelly (Jason) Davies of St. Cloud, Kyle (Billie Jo) Loehr of Dotyville, Michael Kelm of Fond du Lac, Joseph (Brenda) Kelm of Neenah and Matthew Kelm of St. Peter, and eight great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Kelm, Aaron Jobs, Zachary and Maddie Loehr, Katie and Emily Davies, and Rylee and Samuel Loehr. June is also survived by two brothers, Jack (special friend Anita) Teela of Ripon and William (Kathleen) Teela of Tucson, AZ, one sister, Shirley Werdin of Coolidge, AZ, two sisters in law, Ellen Teela of Ripon and Betty Teela of Missouri, one aunt, Lorraine Bilderback of Ripon, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by and infant daughter, Kathleen June Kelm on February 3, 1953, husband Gerhard Kelm on February 8, 1982, husband Lyle Messner in November 1990, three brothers, Robert, Dean, and Gerald Teela, and two sisters, Betty LaVine and Beverly Teela.
VISITATION: Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. Fond du Lac, WI 54935. FUNERAL: Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Town of Forest (Hwy 23 & Cty Trk W, east of Fond du Lac) with the Reverend Mark Barenz officiating. Burial will take place at Dayton Cemetery, Town of Princeton. Friends may call on Thursday at church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
