June M. Bauer

June M. Bauer, 96, of Fond du Lac, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Woodlands Senior Park. She was born January 14, 1918 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of George and Buda Faren Sonnenburg. George passed away when June was less than a year old and her mother married Simon Hotaling and he raised her as his own. June graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School class of 1935. She worked for a brief time at Modern Grinder in Fond du Lac. On August 17, 1940 she married William W. Bauer at St. Mary's Church, Fond du Lac. June enjoyed knitting, playing cribbage, and her brandy manhattans.She is survived by one daughter, Marjorie (James) Christie of Fond du Lac; two sons, James Bauer of Oshkosh and Thomas (April) Bauer of Aurora, CO; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bauer of Salt Lake City, UT; two granddaughters; five grandsons; two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007; son, Robert; daughter-in-law, Judith; two great grandchildren; and half brother, Rollin (Charlotte) Hotaling.



The visitation will be held from 1:00 "“ 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday in the mausoleum. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
