Karen J. Kwakkel

Karen J. Kwakkel, 66, of the Town of Alto, Brandon, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at Waupun Memorial Hospital. She was born August 24, 1940, in Oakfield, the daughter of Ralph and Elsie Schmitz. On July 11, 1999, she married Dave L. Kwakkel in Las Vegas. Karen was employed by Mercury Marine for over 33 years in the shipping department. Prior to this, she worked at Wells Manufacturing. Her enjoyments were reading, camping up north, 4-wheeling, nature, and animals, especially the horses that she had raised. Surviving is her husband, Dave, two sons, Rhody (Laura) Launders of Fond du Lac, and Jeffrey Scott Oelke of Taycheedah, a daughter, Susan (Guy) Klintworth of Taycheedah, five grandchildren, Jason Oelke, Lisa Hahn, Ryan Holstead, Angela Launders, and Adam Oelke. She is further survived by two sisters, Mary (Bill) Schneider of Fond du Lac, and Kathy (Jim) Stubbe of Eldorado, a brother, Richard (Florence) Schmitz of Fond du Lac, her mother and father-in-law, Ken (Phyllis) Kwakkel of Neshkoro, a brother-in-law, Dustin (Kathy) Kwakkel of Ripon, and two sisters-in-law, Diane (Richard) Bille of Brandon, and Dawn (Larry) Doyle of Houghton, MI, and her special dog, "Sarge." Her parents, a son, Scott Launders, and two brothers, James Schmitz and Ken Schmitz preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Karen J. Kwakkel will on Saturday, September 9, 2006, from 11 am to 2 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006, at 2 pm at the funeral home. Dr. Holly Schut will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
