Karen Jean Gorn

Karen Jean Gorn, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the age of 81. She was born on August 27, 1941 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gladys L. Schulze and A. Reinhold Gorn and granddaughter of Martha and William Schulze. Karen was a graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School and a graduate of Cosmetology School.

Karen was a creative and talented Hair Stylist, retiring as the Assistant Manager of Elaine’s Beauty Shop. She was an active member of her Lutheran Church, beginning in high school as a Sunday School and Summer Bible School teacher, a long-time member of the choir, and served as an officer of the Ladies Guild and the Alter Guild. Karen liked to play Bingo, Sheepshead, and Canasta. She enjoyed both winter and summer bowling, including participating in regional and Wisconsin State tournaments. She was an enthusiastic football fan and an avid supporter of the Green Bay Packers win or lose. Karen’s beloved legacy is that she unconditionally loved her family and her community, always willing to lend a hand, with a sweet disposition, positive attitude, and infectious smile and a twinkle in her eye. Her family and friends were blessed by her creative nature and talents. She is dearly missed by her family and all who loved her. May she rest in peace with the Lord.

She is survived by her sister, Janet M. Gorn of Montclair, Virginia; her niece, Suzette Braun Fulton and nephew-in-law, Mark Fulton of Woodbridge, Virginia; and nephew, Gregory R.W. Braun and niece-in-law, Ruth Braun of Palm Springs, California. Additionally, she is survived by her great niece, Jessica Batchelder Cave; her great nephews, Jon Batchelder, Jason Batchelder, and William Braun. She is also survived by her great great nieces, Sara Cave, Abigail Cave, Zoe Cave, and great great nephew, Arlo Handle.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 North Park Avenue, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at Estabrooks Cemetery.
