Karin Jo Kluball

April 20, 1958 — May 5, 2022

Karin Jo Kluball, 64, of Eau Claire, WI entered her eternal rest in Christ on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

Karin was born in Milwaukee, WI on April 20, 1958 to Delmar and Verna (Hills) Kluball. She was baptized as an infant. At the age of 15 months, Karin contracted encephalitis, which prompted two hospitalizations. During the second hospitalization, Karin went into a coma, and when she woke up, it was determined that the brain had suffered damage, including loss of speech. Karin lived at home until age 4 1/2, during which time she welcomed three younger siblings into her life. When she left home, she lived at Southern Colony and Training Center in Union Grove, WI. During these years, she welcomed many visits from family, as well as coming home for day and overnight visits. She loved being sung to, playing pat-a-cake, coloring, playing with toys that make sound and music, but most of all, visits with her family.

During the 1990s, Karin moved to Bethesda Lutheran Services in Watertown, WI. She enjoyed going to church in their chapel, attending Camp Matz each summer, and one year, even played a shepherd in the Christmas Service. Karin lived in Watertown until 2002, when she moved to a Bethesda Group Home in Brandon, WI. There, she enjoyed regular visits from her family. She developed a love for ice cream and pudding, which was directly related to time shared with her father.

In September of 2020, Karin moved to a new group home in Eau Claire, WI. There, she enjoyed regular family visits and monthly lunch outings and drives.

Karin is survived by her mother, Verna (Fond du Lac, WI); sister, Nancy of Minnetonka, MN; brother, Delmar (Betty) of Tomah, WI; brother, Pastor Gary (Diana) Kluball of Clifton Park, NY; sister, Lisa Jo Kluball Mackenzie of Milwaukee, WI and sister, Jenny Burger of Kalispell, MT. She is also survived by sixteen nieces and nephews, and nine great nieces and nephews.

She was welcomed home to heaven by her Savior, Jesus, along with her father, Delmar Kluball, her brother-in-law, Pastor Philip Mischke, her nephew, Benjamin Mischke and grandparents. She is also survived by other family and friends.

A Christian Memorial Service and Interment will be held at Estabrooks Cemetery in Fond du Lac, WI, at 10AM Monday, May 16, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to WELS Special Ministries in Waukesha, WI or The Lutheran Home Jesus Cares Ministry in Belle Plaine, MN.
