Karyl L. Van Gorder

Karyl L. Van Gorder, 49, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at her residence. She was born August 9, 1962, in Ripon, the daughter of Charles and Doris Bengston Stracy. Karyl was a graduate of Ripon High School in 1981, and received her Associates Degree as an Administrative Assistant from Moraine Park Technical College. On September 12, 1998, she married Harold T. Van Gorder, Jr. at the Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. Karyl was employed by Midstate Amusement Games for 17 years running dart leagues for Fond du Lac and the surrounding areas while being with friends. She was a member of Eagles Aerie #270 Auxiliary. Karyl enjoyed camping, motorcycle rides, and spending time with her children and her three beautiful granddaughters. Surviving is her husband, Harold, Jr, a son, Justen (Kristin) Stracy of Omro, Natasha (Travis) Hooyman of Kimberly, and Chelsea Burgert of Fond du Lac, three granddaughters, Chloe Mae, Payton LeAnn, and Elliana Elaine, her mother, Doris Stracy of Ripon, two sisters, Kathy (Dan) Norton of Oshkosh and Karen (Jim) Kotlowski of Ripon, two brothers, Randy (Karen) Stracy and Russ (Vicki) Stracy, both of Ripon, her mother-in-law, Ilene Van Gorder of Fond du Lac, and many other relatives and friends. Her father, father-in-law, Harold Van Gorder, Sr, a brother, Ronnie Stracy, and a grandson, Noah Charles Burgert, preceded her in death.



Visitation for Karyl L. Van Gorder will be on Saturday, November 19, 2011, from 9 to 11 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM at the funeral home on Saturday. The Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate and cremation will follow the services. Inurnment of cremated remains will be in Estabrooks Cemetery at a later date.
