Kathryn E. “Kay” Huck, 79 (10 days short of 80) of The Villages, Florida, went home to the Lord peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, due to complications of a stroke she suffered on July 20, 2021.
Kay was born the daughter of Norbert & Viola DeLorme in Sheboygan, WI on September 1, 1941. She moved to St. Peter in 1953, attended Roosevelt Junior High and Goodrich High School, graduating in 1959.
In 1961 she met the love of her life, Paul Huck. They married on May 12,1962 and shared over 59 years of love together. The last 14 years in The Villages, Florida shoveling sunshine, cooking for the neighbors and crocheting afghans.
Kay was employed by the Mt. Calvary Medical Clinic and Combined Insurance. She took time off to raise their four children, then continued her career at Bender Plumbing, Bath Boutique and finally Silica Appliance. She retired in 1997 and enjoyed sharing time between “the lake” the “house on the ledge,” and Florida. She had a good, full life with many friends and many hobbies.
Kay is survived by her husband Paul; son, Mark (Robyn Amberg) Huck; daughters, Vicki (Jeff) Kuether, Mary “Chuckie” (Brian) Fox, and Kelly (David) Bauer; eight grandchildren, Ben and Lindsey Frieler, Logan, Laine and Lucas Kuether, Stephanie and Nick Bauer, and Vanessa Huck. She is further survived by one brother, Bill DeLorme of Wisconsin Rapids; brother-in-law, David (Doris) Huck; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Sam) Bender and Mary (Mike) Reinsch; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Norbert and Viola DeLorme; father and mother-in-law, Orval and Irma Huck; brothers, Jim DeLorme and Joel DeLorme, sister-in-law, Janet (Huck) Roeber; and brother-in-law, Dick Roeber.
Kay lived life to the fullest, often obsessed with being grandma, reading, collecting videos, crocheting, cooking, thrifting and God only knows what else. She even took up golfing in Florida. But, most of all, she was a good friend to all and always was with a smile.
The visitation for Kay will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way in Fond du Lac. The memorial mass will follow at 11:00 AM at church. The family has requested that in honor of Kay to please wear casual “Florida” attire.
Additionally, the family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice Home of Hope and Froedtert Hospital staff.
