Kathy Jean Rabe (Oechsner)

Kathy J. Rabe (Oechsner), 56, of Fond du Lac, went to her heavenly home with Jesus on Sunday, January 21, 2024.She was born on April 23, 1967, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Gerald and Barbara (Pokorny) Oechsner. On June 27, 1998, she married David Rabe in Van Dyne, WI. She was a proud member of Trinity Baptist Church and a faithful leader in the AWANA program. Kathy had a gift of making everyone feel special and loved, She lit up every room that she entered with her warm smile and fun-loving personality. To know her is to love her. She added a special touch to everything she was involved with including her love of crafting, quilting and volunteering anyway she could, especially at Trinity helping with school lunch. Kathy loved traveling the world with Dave and anyone who would come along or meet up on the way. She loved spending time at her beautifully remodeled lake house in Conover, WI with doors always open to family and friends. Most importantly, Kathy had a special relationship with Jesus. Kathy loved the Lord Jesus so much and did not lose sight of her strong faith and always made her faith known. Her time on this earth was to help bring people to the Lord and her legacy will live on.  

She is survived by her husband, David; children, Mallory (Dallis) Blitzke and Mackenzie (fiancé, Troy Gelhar) Rabe; Dave’s children, Jason Rabe and Kiley (Jake) Olejnik; daughter-in-law, Amy Rabe; extra special grandchildren, Payton Rabe and Brinley Rabe; sisters, Cindy (fiancé, John Hanrahan) Torres, Peggy (Steve Bera) Oechsner, and Vicky (Brian Burke) Zelen; and many other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Gerald; mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Eugene Rabe; and niece, Melanie Holmes (Eubanks). 

The visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 11:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Lighthouse Christian Church, 401 S. National Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI 54935. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. Cremation has taken place. Luncheon will follow at the Radisson, 625 W Rolling Meadows Dr, Fond du Lac, WI 54937, lunch will be served from 3:30pm-5:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for a tuition assistance program in Kathy’s memory at Trinity Baptist School.
