Kenneth E. Porter

Kenneth E. Porter passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. He was born January 5, 1938, the son of Lloyd and Stella (Thuermer) Porter, in Milwaukee. Kenny graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Post-high school, Kenny enlisted and served in the Army. Following honorable discharge, he worked for Giddings and Lewis as a machinist until retirement.

Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family camping and fishing the lakes of Wisconsin as well as the Great Lake of Michigan. He enjoyed gardening (especially tomatoes) and putting out food for his backyard friends - the birds and squirrels. He liked to bake and experiment with numerous recipes for all to relish. He loved family gatherings where there was always great food and games (especially card games) that everyone could enjoy.

Kenny lived a simple and wholesome life. He was incredibly gentle, caring and always concerned about the well-being of others before himself.

He is preceded in death by mother, Stella; stepfather, George Wolf; brother, Gordon Porter; and sister Jean Hoffman. Kenny is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family - most still residing in the greater Fond du Lac area.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1st, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:30 PM. Entombment with Military Burial Honors will be performed at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Cemetery immediately following the service.
