Kenneth "Ken" James Towne, age 93, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, in the comfort of his home in the Town of Lamartine, surrounded by his families love. He was born on March 23, 1919 in the Town of Lamartine to Clifford and Laura Burns Towne. On September 18, 1943, he married the love of his life, Arlyle B. Rohlfs at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac, WI. He graduated in 1937 from Rosendale Union Free High School. He owned and operated his own milk route, hauling to Rogersville Cheese Factory, and farmed his entire life with his wife in the Eldorado area. Ken was a charter member of the Busy Bees 4-H Club and the Rosendale FFA Chapter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, watching sports on TV and playing sheeps head. He enjoyed spending time with his family by whom he will be missed dearly. Ken is survived by his devoted wife Arlyle of 68 years, adaughter, Judy (Wayne) Hansen of Van Dyne, a son James (Kathy) of Eldorado. Six grandchildren Andrea (Brian) Abler, Paula (Jon) Wendt, Terra (Brian) Kind, Kyle (Marci) Hansen, Cory (Brenda) Towne and Craig (Angela) Hansen, 14 great grandchildren, a brother Warren of Fond du Lac and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Arnold 'Butch' and Mildred Rohlfs, 4 sisters-in-law and 3 brothers-in"”law.
Visitation for Kenneth "Ken" James Towne will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, from 3 to 7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Avenue, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 7 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Committal services for Mr. Towne will be on Thursday morning at 11 AM at Rosendale Cemetery.
