Kenneth L. "Kenny" Sonnenberg

Kenneth L. “Kenny” Sonnenberg, 77, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at his residence in Fond du Lac. He was born in Fond du Lac on December 24, 1940, a son of Earl and Elsie (Pickart) Sonnenberg.



Kenny worked thirty-five years for Wells Manufacturing, ten years for Mercury Marine and served four years in the U.S. Navy (USN).



Kenny loved to garden, watch old movies, and spend time with his family and beloved dog, Kelly.



Survivors include his sister, Kathleen Smeilis of Fond du Lac; four nephews, Pat Smeilis, Chris Smeilis (fiancé Tiffany) and Pete Smeilis, all of Fond du Lac and John Scharf of West Bend; a niece, Sarah Scharf of Waterford; a brother-in-law, Gerald Scharf of Fond du Lac; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Joan Sonnenberg (infant twin sister, Jean) and Nancy Scharf; brother, Donald Sonnenberg; and a brother-in-law, Bill Smeilus.



Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way in Fond du Lac. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 5:00 PM. Following the services, Military Funeral Honors will be presented by the U.S. Navy. Private entombment in Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, will take place Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
