Kenneth R. "Bud" Unferth

October 21, 1923 — January 25, 2010

Kenneth R. "Bud" Unferth, age 86, formerly of the Town of Ashford, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at All About Life Rehabilitation Center. He was born on October 21, 1923 in Lomira, the son of Benjamin and Clara (Hayes) Unferth. He graduated from Lomira High School in 1942. Ken served in the United States Army in World War II from 1943 to 1945 at which time he received a Purple Heart. On July 2, 1967 he married Lucille Schloskey in Iowa. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2006. Ken worked for over thirty-five years at Mercury Marine, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and a former member of the Church of Peace. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, deer and pheasant hunting, and sitting around drinking beer listening to polka.SURVIVORS: children, Gary (Sharon) Unferth, Jim Unferth, Sue (Fred) Ehlers, Bruce (Diane) Unferth, Kathy Zwetow, Kim (James) Riendeau, Dean (Bev) Unferth, David Unferth, step-children, Carol (Dennis) Mosolf, Ray Kohls, Barb (Scott) Van Dreel, Dale (Ellen) Kohls, sisters, Linda (Lloyd) Bonlander, Janette (Phil) Patterson, Marianne Wondra, Susie Soeller, brother, Earl Unferth, twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille, one brother, Paul Klebs, one daughter, Paula Nevills, one sister, Betty Schabel, three brothers in law, Frances Fochs, Fritz Wondra, and Franklin Schabel.



VISITATION: Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 4-7 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
