Kevin “Bruiser” J. Gross, 45 of Oshkosh, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at his residence. He was born on June 12, 1978, in Fond du Lac, the son of Michael and Tina (Temple) Gross. Bruiser was a graduate of Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac where he was the Homecoming King, participated in football and track & field. Bruiser graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree. On October 29, 2021, Bruiser married Sally Morgan in Oshkosh. Bruiser was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #267. Some of his favorite things were listening to all music, but especially the oldies, golfing, Brewer games, puzzles, having card night with the boys, and going to the meat raffles at local bars. He was a big Seinfeld fan and watched Jeopardy daily. Bruiser was a social person who loved to make people laugh, especially at his driveway parties which later became known as Bruiser Palooza. Bruiser enjoyed hunting trips with his father and family members and looked forward to the Baumgartner family reunion. His greatest love was for his family and especially all the younger kids. One of his favorite activities with his family was to have squirt gun fights and water ballons in the house.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; mother, Tina (Jason) Wildenberg; stepmother, Terry (Tom) Lemke; two stepchildren, Randy and Alex (Madison) Howie; sister, Michele (Brian Kollmann) Bogenschneider; stepbrother, Brad Theyerl; granddaughter, Elfreda Howie; niece, Alexis Bogenschneider; three nephews, Kyler Bogenschneider, Tyler and Trenton Kollmann; great niece, Kalie Bogenschneider; longtime friend, Solbs; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Gross; maternal grandparents, Don and Mary Temple; paternal grandparents, Robert and Beverly Gross; two aunts, Amy Bertram and Mary Hoffmann; and two uncle, Jeffrey and Bob Gross.
The visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM. Cremation will follow the service. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bruiser’s name to the family.
