Knight E. Blank

Knight Emil Blank Sr. passed away August 12, 2009 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI.Knight was born March 15, 1923 in Neenah WI to the late Emil and Catherine (Peske) Blank. His sister was born four years later to the day also in Neenah. Knight graduated from Shattuck High school in 1940. Over the years he had a variety of rewarding careers from skating with the Ice Capades, using these skills, Knight taught ice-skating to Appleton youth at Jones Park for the park and recreation departments. Knight then worked on the railroad and even guided train tours to Yellow Stone National Park. Knight worked as a salesman for SC Shannon Co. a food distributor that was in Appleton. Later in life he sold Forney welding products throughout Wisconsin.Knight is survived by his wife, Betty (Bartz); his children, Lynn (Fritz Fett), Iola, WI; Knight Jr. (Skip), Kansas City, Mo; Scott, Hudson, WI; Gary, Appleton, WI; six grand children; and his sister, Patricia Kruger, Neenah, WI.



The church was an important part of Dad's life. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.The family requests that memorials be directed to Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Dr., of Fond du Lac WI, 54935.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
