Larry G. “Silver Dollar Kid” Stoffel, age 73, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, September 9, 2021, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on December 20, 1947, in Campbellsport, the son of Jerome and Shirley (Klumpyan) Stoffel. Larry graduated from Goodrich High School. Larry served in the United States Army 1st and 12th Air Cavalry. He was a member of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 Firing Squad, DAV, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and he was a Purple Heart recipient. Larry loved talking, riding his bike, fishing, and of course handing out silver dollars and candy.
Survivors include his siblings, Gloria (Jim) Twohig, Mike (Pam) Stoffel, David Stoffel, Kay (Richard “Van”) Van Der Vaart; his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Twohig, Jim Twohig, Jamie (Stefanie) Osgood, Sammy Stoffel, Jerome “JJ” Stoffel, Matt (Lori Jayne) Stoffel; his aunt, Pat Stoffel; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Donald “Stosh”; one niece, Carol.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Ledgeview Memorial Park. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 Firing Squad will conduct military graveside honors.
