Larry O. Ott

Larry O. Ott, 88, formerly of Oakfield, died Thursday, December 26, 2024 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born in Columbus, WI, the son of Orville and Loretta Wegener Ott. On March 23, 1957 he married Patricia L. Guenther at Lamartine Methodist Church and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2014. Larry worked at Mercury Marine until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Oakfield Fire Department, serving as 2nd Chief, Oakfield First Responders, Oakfield United Methodist Church, serving as trustee and usher, Oakfield Rec Department, coaching boys baseball and girls softball, Oakfield Village Trustee, serving as Civil Defense Head and Water Commissioner. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, yardwork and gardening, watching sports, and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Allen (Mary Ann Gonzalez-Ott) Ott, Brian (Janice) Ott, Melody (Dale) Post, and Roxanne (Kelly) Schmitz; grandchildren, Sarah (Jeffrey) Determan, Katherine Ott, Gabriel Ott, Joshua (Amanda) Ott, Justin (Megan) Ott, Jennifer Ott, Ashley (Trevor) Krizan, McKenna (Austin) Erickson, Cassandra (Brian) Tetzlaff, Tyler (fiancee, Danielle DeBruin) Schmitz, and Joseph Schmitz; great grandchildren, Greyson, Ford, Scarlett, Tristan, Kylee, Rylee, Avery, Brianna, Colton, and Amelia; sisters, Carol Hagen and Sandy Kokas; sisters-in-law, Denise Ott and Mary Lou Ott; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; brothers, Donald Ott, Kenneth Ott, and David Ott; and sister, Donna (Jim) Ploum.

The visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Oakfield Community Church, 220 S Main Street in Oakfield. The memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM at church on Friday. Cremation has taken place and burial will follow in Avoca Cemetery.
