Larry W. Schara

Larry W. Schara, age 84, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, June 9, 2024, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1939, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, the son of Ira and Doris (Giese) Schara. Larry graduated from Wisconsin Rapids High School. In 1990, he married Diane “Dee” Grosinske in Las Vegas. Larry worked at Mercury until his retirement in 2001. At one point in his life, Larry was the number one ranked pool player in Fond du Lac County. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers. Larry also enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes, and bowling.

Survivors include his wife, Dee; two children, Terri (Scott) Martinek and Jeffrey (Debbie) Schara; his stepdaughter, Robin (Guy) Nothem and their children, Cody and Haley; three grandchildren, David, Jennifer, and Bradley; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy (Tom) Heisel; nephews, Tommy Jr, and Kevin; nieces, Karen (Jimmy) and Cindy; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Geovonne Seeman and Jackie Taddey; one nephew, Kenny Lee.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the service at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.
