Laverne E. Wendt

LaVerne E. “Vern” Wendt, age 82, of North Fond du Lac, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 15, 1934 in Wausau, the son of Edward and Evelyn (Mess) Wendt. Vern served in the United States Marines. On March 17, 1959 he married Marcella M. Magrecki in Wausau. He worked for Master Lock Company. Vern faithfully read the Bible every morning. He loved walking, enjoyed cross-word puzzles and Sudoku. In his younger years he was an avid bowler with a few 300 games and he also enjoyed biking.



Survivors include his wife Marcella “Mickey” Wendt of North Fond du Lac; two daughters, Cindy (Kevin) Taylor of Milwaukee, and Judi Wendt of Kimberly, WI; three grandchildren, Ryan Taylor, Nellie Wendt, and Brianna Wendt; one sister, Patricia (Richard) Jesse of Wausau, WI; one brother-in-law, Tom (Kathy) Magrecki of Ferguson, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents.



Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 10-11:30 A.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service and interment will take place at Rienzi Cemetery.
