Lawrence R. "Larry the Legend" Behlke, 78, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born April 9, 1934 in Clear Creek, WI, the son of Ewald and Amelia Klavetter Behlke. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1952 "“ 1962 in the Korean War as a paratrooper. On June 12, 1965 he married Glenna G. Hessler in Eau Claire, WI. Larry drove truck and later worked for Schwan's Ice Cream as a salesman for 35 years. He enjoyed working, odd jobs, hunting, Brewer and Packer fan, loved going to the casino, and especially enjoyed life. SURVIVORS: wife, Glenna Behlke, Fond du Lac; one daughter, Kelly, Green Bay; two step children, Greg (Cindy) Day, Eau Claire and Shelly (George) Day, Thurston, OR; eight grandchildren, Monet and Cristian Bastia, Green Bay, Julia (Seth) Pestle, Eugene, OR, Andrew Day, Minneapolis, MN, Dana Day, Phoenix, AZ, Jobe (Faith) Day, Florence, OR, Megan Day, Eau Claire, Sheila (Tony) Christner, Eau Claire; beloved great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard (Joann) Behlke, Cleghorn, WI; two sisters, Lucille Behlke, Eau Claire and Margaret O'Mara, Eau Claire; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one step son, Randy Day.
VISITATION: family will receive friends from 4 "“ 7 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Hughes officiating.
