Lee "Little Lee" Francis Smith, age 60, of 123 Rubina Lane, Fond du Lac, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 6, 2007. He was born on June 21, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Francis and Marilyn (Roberts) Smith. Lee attended South Division High School in Milwaukee and Bryant and Stratton Business College. Lee enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and became Air Police and enjoyed working with his German Shepherd "Copper".On November 16, 1968 he married his devoted wife Kathryn Steingraber in Sugar Bush, WI at Grace Lutheran Church. Lee and his wife Kathy enjoyed working on crafts and doing craft shows for almost twelve years. Lee enjoyed collecting things, especially Santa's, M&M Collectibles, baseball and football cards, and sports memorabilia. He loved working on the computer and chatting with his email buddies. He enjoyed his grandchildren who fondly referred to him as Santa Claus and he loved telling jokes. He was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church.SURVIVORS: his beloved wife Kathryn, his three sons, Shawn (Amy) Smith of Fond du Lac, Scott (Gayla) Smith of Van Dyne, Timothy (Madlyn) Smith of Fond du Lac, four grandchildren, Makayla, Noah, Owen, and Payton Smith, three step-grandchildren, Shawn (Connie) Gens, Ryan and Patrick Gens, his parents, Francis and Marilyn Smith of Pardeeville, WI, Lee's auntie Lou Mildebrandt who helped raise him until the age of six, two brothers, Jeff Smith of Georgia, Glenn (Dianne) Smith of Pardeeville, two sisters, Paula Smith, and Kelly (Mark) Hopkins of Pardeeville, one brother in law, Richard (Eileen) Steingraber of Greenville, WI, one sister in law, Sharie Steingraber of CA, one niece, Stephanie (Jon) Carpenter of MN, three nephews, Kyle Steingraber of Greenville, Justin and Collin Steingraber of CA. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leon Smith, grandmother, Gertrude Thalke, grandmother, Elsie Roberts, mother and father in law, Elmer and Leona Steingraber, and brother in law, Elmer Steingraber Jr.
VISITATION: Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Monday, December 10, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church with the Reverend David Haugly and Joel Gaertner officiating. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
