Leon R. Arndt

Leon R. Arndt, age 84, of W2803 Sunny Rd, Eden, died on his birthday, Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on May 10, 1924 at the homestead in the Town of Eden, the son of Herman and Ernestina (Rackow) Arndt. On August 27, 1950 he married Barbara Chapman in Colorado Springs, CO. Leon served in the United States Army in World War II in the 10th Mountain Division. Leon was a farmer and a trucker for his entire life. He loved John Deere equipment. He also enjoyed reading the bible.SURVIVORS: his wife Barbara, three children, Nancy Olsen of Newport News, VA, Robert (Lorie) Arndt of Milwaukee, Karen Arndt of Las Cruces, NM, eight grandchildren, August, Nathan, Jeannette, April, Kevin, Justin, Katrina, and Violet, four great-grandchildren, one brother, Roy Arndt of Fond du Lac, one sister, Frieda Dewell of Grand Junction, CO, sister in law, Alice Arndt of Slinger, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and their spouses, Meta (George) Funk, Herman (Mildred) Arndt, Raymond (Elvera) Arndt, Alice (Andrew) Guell, Florence (Roy) Harris, and brother in law, Lloyd Dewell.



VISITATION: Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 1-2 P.M. at Tabor United Methodist Church, 1053 Church Rd, Eden. FUNERAL: Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 2 P.M. at Tabor United Methodist Church.
