Leona G. Erickson

Leona G. Erickson, 96, of North Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at All About Life Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 7, 1917 in North Fond du Lac, the daughter of Peter and Mary Kempf Kraus. On May 4, 1939 she married Hanford Erickson at Presentation Church, North Fond du Lac and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2004. She attended Presentation Catholic Grade School and North Fond du Lac High School. Leona was employed by Infant Socks, American Wire and Best Roller. She loved to make special Christmas ornaments for her family, work outside with her flowers, paint, read and take care of abandoned baby squirrels that children brought to her.She is survived by four daughters, Rita (Joseph Vagueiro) Gross-Hahn, Fond du Lac, M. Christine (Richard) Gurno, Fond du Lac, Lynda Streeter, North Fond du Lac, and Penne (Stanley) Raymond, Wisconsin Rapids; 14 grandchildren, Laura (Jon) Hegge, James (Chris) Gross, Keith (Cindy) Gross, Sherry (Jerry) Kawleski, Michelle (Tony) Treleven, Richard (Tammy Freund) Gurno, Colleen (William) Sonnenfeld, Troy (Margaret) Gurno, Kristopher (Suzy) Gurno, Carry (Micki) Streeter, Terry (Laura) Streeter, Hanford (Vicki) Erickson, Christine (Darrin) Weber and Joseph (Gina) Raymond; 33 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Kraus and Phyllis Erickson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Peter Jr. (Genevieve) Kraus and Robert Kraus; two sisters, Dorothy (George) Hensen and Lenore Wirkus; one son-in-law, Larry Streeter; one grandson, Mark Gross; one great granddaughter, Stephanie Erickson.



The visitation will be held from 9:00 "“ 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Vegter officiating. Entombment will be held in Shrine of Rest Mausoluem, Ledgeview Memorial Park.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
