Leonard A. Welsch, 92 formerly of 8696 Grams Road, Ripon, died Wednesday, August 9,2006 at the St. Francis Nursing Home where he had been a resident since January 2006. He was born in Lomira on December 28,1913 the son of Oscar and Elexia Strobel Welsch. He was married to Ruth Boese which ended in divorce he later married Virginia Fischer on May 7,1966 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on February 11,2002. Leonard was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School Class of 1933. He was in the manufacturing industry for 46 years retiring from McQuay Perfex in September 1979 as traffic manager. Leonard served as assessor for the Town of Nepeuskun and Utica for 16 years. He was president of Nepeuskun Cemetery Association serving for 50 years. Leonard was a past president of the Rush Lake Cottage Corporation, and the Welsch Shanty Palace for over 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cribbage and enjoyed his dog, Dusty.Survivors include his children, Leonard W. (Pauline) Welsch, Diamond Bar, California, E. Peter Welsch, Fond du Lac, Pat (Jordan) Hansen, Fond du Lac, Michael (Debbie) Welsch, Tawas City, Michigan, Sue (Jack Walters) Huebner, Eau Claire, Virginia Anzivino, Ripon, daughter-in-law, Ruth Welsch, Fond du Lac, one brother, Andrew (Sylvia) Welsch, Lake Poygan, two sisters, Dorothy Schwei, Milwaukee, and Jeanette Wildupp, Milwaukee, 17 grandchildren,25 great-grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, wife , a son Donald Welsch, two grandchildren, Peter Welsch and Bobby Anzivino, one brother, Ralph Welsch, one sister, Delores Zehren, and his faithful dog, Dusty.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 26,2006 from 12:15 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at St. Francis Nursing Home Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 26,2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the St. Francis Nursing Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Fictum officiating. Cremation has taken place with inurnment in Nepeuskun Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to the St. Francis Home"Special thanks to the staff at St. Francis Home for their care and compassion".Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
