Leonard F. Cratchy

Leonard F. Cratchy, 78, of Van Dyne, died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at his residence. He was born November 24, 1931 in North Fond du Lac, the son of Raymond R. and Anna B. Junaitis Cratchy. Leonard was a 1951 graduate of North Fond du Lac High School. He was a life member of Presentation Parish, North Fond du Lac. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from August 1951 "“ August 1955. On December 1, 1954 he married Elfriede "Elli" E. Gruettner in Munich, Germany and she preceded him in death on April 8, 1999. Leonard worked for Mercury Marine for 35 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie 270 and the Mercury Marine Quarter Century Club. Leonard enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, woodworking, and painting.SURVIVORS: two children, Timothy (Heather) Cratchy, North Fond du Lac, Tammy (Timothy) Hicken, North Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Kyle (Dawn) Cratchy, Kimberly Cratchy, Tyler (Special friend, Jodi) Hicken, Stephanie Hicken; two great grandchildren, Marcus and Molly; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elli; one sister, Rose Collins.



VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM on Monday, April 19, 2010 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 8:30 "“ 9:30 AM at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Presentation Parish, 705 Michigan Avenue, North Fond du Lac with Rev. Edward Sippel officiating. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery. The Trier -Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside services.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
