Lenny retired from Mercury Marine in 2004 shortly after his marriage to Karen. He was a veteran of the US Army. Lenny will be remembered for his long-time role as Santa during the Christmas season with Karen playing the part of Mrs. Claus. In addition, he would dress as a Leprauachan during the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in Fond du Lac.
Survivors include four children, Gina (Mike) Malson, Dawn (Todd) Lerche, Rebecca (Jerry) Flynn, and Jennie Silvia (fiancé Kevin King); eight grandchildren, Tyler Hug (fiancée Katie Lynn), Bobbie Jo Fitzsimmons, Courtney (Tyler) Schwefel, Derek Malson (fiancée Jessika Schraven), Shawna (Ray) Malson, Todd Jr. Lerche, Daniel Lerche, and Gage Lerche; eleven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jaxson, Hunter, Sy’anna, Kaydence, Gracie, Evelyn, Braydon, Camile, Blaine, and Raymond; and a great-great-granddaughter, Kamiya. Lenny is further survived by a sister, Rita Johan; sister-in-law, Jessica Hug; and his first wife and the mother of his children, Dollyann Hug. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Hug.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home, beginning at 4:00 PM with Paul Osterholm, Sr., officiating. A private graveside committal service with Military Funeral Honors rendered by the US Army will be held Monday, December 11, 2023, at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
