Leonard J. Mucek, 87 of Fond du Lac and a former resident of Berwyn, IL died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born on May 12, 1927 in Chicago, IL the son of Joseph L. and Laura A. Nemecek Mucek. Leonard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy stationed in Chicago in public relations from 1945-46. The unit was called the "Fleet Hometown News Center". He was a motion picture projectionist for various movie theaters in the Chicago area retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Motion Projectionist Local No.110 in Chicago and a member of St. Odilo's Catholic Church and later St. Mary's of Cells in Berwyn. While residing in Fond du Lac he attended Holy Family Parish. Leonard enjoyed working on automobiles especially his 1935 Cadillac LaSalle.SURVIVORS: Leonard is survived by a sister Marilyn (Edward) Starostovic, Stoughton,WI and six nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Joseph L. Mucek Jr.
VISITATION: Friends may call on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church, 678 Western Avenue, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM at Holy Family -Sacred Heart Church.
