Leonard K. Bruflat, Sr. passed away on March 3, 2004 at age 80, surrounded by the love of his family and joining his beloved wife of 57 years, Evelyn, in eternal peace. He was born on June 30, 1923 in Brigham Township, WI to Anton and Gemanda Anderson Bruflat. He served in WWII as a U.S. Navy aviator and flight instructor, flying off of aircraft carriers.Leonard and Evelyn were married on August 8, 1946 in Mt. Horeb, WI. and lived in Mt Horeb, Waupun, and Fond du Lac during their marriage.Leonard was a loving father to Marcia L. Puls (John), Leonard K. Jr. (Lanette), Martin A. (Elizabeth), Robert W. (Deborah K.) and foster father to Tammy L. Scheel (Jerry). He was the loved grandfather to Sarah, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Angela, Simon (in Eternal life), Ethan, Michael, Jennifer and Thomas. His brother Andrew, sisters Orene and Ruby, nieces, nephews and other family and friends also survive him. In addition to his wife, he also joins his parents, three brothers and grandson, who preceded him to God's kingdom.In order to further medical research and education, it was Leonard's wish that his body be donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2004, at 2 pm at Church of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran, Fond du Lac. The Rev. Duane C. Wisner will officiate.
