Leslie H. "E.Z." Cowles

Leslie H "E.Z. Cowles, Jr., 66, of 320 Southlake Circle, Fond du Lac, died Thursday, April 21, 2005, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born April 3, 1939, in Oakfield, a son of Leslie H. and Margaret Bird Cowles, Sr. On March 8, 1986, he married Kathleen Salfer Johnson in Fond du Lac at the Church of Peace. Mr. Cowles was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was employed by Mercury Marine for over 40 years and retired in 2001. Mr. Cowles was a 20-year member of the Oakfield Volunteer Fire Department, the Oakfield Lions Club, Ducks Unlimited, the Owen J. Gromme Society, and the Cornucopia Men's Club of Cornucopia, WI. Surviving is his wife, Kathleen, three sons, Rick (Shari) Cowles and Steven (Sandy) Cowles, all of Oakfield, and Jayson (Melissa) Johnson of Fond du Lac, two daughters, Laurie (Bill) Trepanier of Georgia, and Margaret Cowles of North Carolina, six grandchildren, and a sister, Sydney (Tom) Henke of Oakfield. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. His parents preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. Leslie H. Cowles, Jr. will be on Monday, April 25, 2005, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and on Tuesday, April 26, 2005, from 10 to 11 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Rev. Fred Toppe will officiate and cremation will follow.
