After a lengthy illness, Leslie (Les) Commo, 71, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2022 at his home in Dundee, WI. Les was born on September 8, 1950 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the son of Francis and June Commo.
Les married the love of his life, Cinda Keup, on October 23, 1976. In 1983, Les and Cinda started their own business, C&C Drywall. His real passion, though, was music. Les toured the country as a member of Ohio Express, and later played with, among other bands, Manchester, Ida Red, and Twang, where he shared the stage with his son Tyler. One of his greatest joys came from his yearly trips to Hodag, where his bands won “best band in the state” three times. But more than competing, Les loved spending time with the “Hodaggers,” his group of friends who made the trip to Rhinelander each year. Throughout the years, Les enjoyed camping with his family at Westward Ho and Paradise Valley, forming amazing friendships along the way.
Retiring in his dream home, Les enjoyed many campfires and boat rides along the lake with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid snowmobiler and never missed a Packers game. He enjoyed vacationing in Jamaica, often singing with the bands to the enjoyment of all vacationers.
Loved ones left behind include his loving wife Cinda; his children, Jayce (Jenny), Tyler (Hannah), and Anna (Jonathan) Wheeler; his grandchildren, William, Rowan, Ben, Desmond, and Aislyn; and his two pups, Calla and Charlotte.
Les was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and June; and his brothers, Dennis and Jeff.
