Lillian (Lila) "Ma Mueller" P. Blader, age 89, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at All About Life Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 1, 1920 in Ripon, the daughter of Klamie and Anna (Matthews) Kurzynske. Lila was raised in Fond du Lac and the Town of Empire. She attended St. Joseph's and Taft schools. On June 16, 1937 she married Arthur Mueller. On April 8, 1961 she married Harvey Blader at the Church of Peace.During her years of employment she worked at Infant Socks, Best Roller, and was the head cook at Maple Manor Nursing Home. In 1969, Lila and Harvey Blader became owners and operators of The Blue Royal Tavern in Taylor County, WI. After her husbands passing in 1977, she returned to Fond du Lac where she volunteered in the office of the Fond du Lac Detective Bureau.She loved country music and yodeling. At the age of seven, she sang on the stage of the Garrick Theatre in Fond du Lac winning many singing contests. Also appearing at local stage shows and on local radio, by the age of thirteen she became known as the "Lone Cowgirl". She attended the Irvin Senn School of Music where she learned to play many instruments.Lila was best known for her willingness to help many people over the years. Known as "Ma" to her friends and family, she enjoyed life until her passing. She spent many years making crafts and sharing them with others. She loved animals and kept many pets over the years, with special mention of her cat "Misty".SURVIVORS: her daughter, Sandra (Jim) Gurno of Fond du Lac, her sons, Jeff (Mary) Mueller of Appleton, David (Cindy) Mueller of Fond du Lac, Lynn Mueller of Denver, CO, Ken (Beryl) Mueller of South Beloit, and Larry Mueller of Beloit, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husbands, Arthur Mueller and Harvey Blader, and sister, Mildred Schallock.
VISITATION: Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI 54935. FUNERAL: Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
