Lloyl L. Mcleod

August 15, 1914 — June 4, 2011

Lloyl L. "Mac" McLeod, 96, who formerly resided with his daughter, Marilyn Mc Leod for the past two years, and was currently a resident of Manor Care Health Services for the past two weeks, died on Saturday, June 4, 2011. He was born August 15, 1914, in Green Bay, the son of George R. and Delia J. Gauthier McLeod. He attended schools in Little Suamico, Sobiski, Abrams, and Marinette, WI. On November 8, 1947, he married Alice R. Hickey. She preceded him in death on April 16, 1995. Lloyl was employed by the Department of Natural Resources, Fishing Division, from April 1, 1937 until his retirement in 1974. After retiring, he served as Taycheedah Town Chairman for eight years. He also operated his own mink ranch from 1954 to 1974. During WW II, he served in the US Coast Guard from October 20, 1942 until October 20, 1945 performing weather patrol in the North Atlantic on the USS Frigate 28. His hobbies included trap shooting, training hunting dogs, rabbit, coon, deer, and bear hunting. He enjoyed dancing, and all types of music, especially big band. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Peter Church, a lifetime member of the Plott Hound Association, Wescot Sportsmen's Club, Black and Tan Hound Association, and the Sun Down Coon Club. He is survived by a son, Bruce (Beth) McLeod of Pensacola, FL, a daughter, Marilyn McLeod (special friend Bart) of Pipe, and two grandsons, Brian and Brandon McLeod, of Pensacola, FL. His parents, wife, a brother, George, and a sister, Evelyn "Mickey" Oakes, preceded him in death.



Visitation for Lloyl L. "Mac" McLeod will be on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Peter Church, W3698 County Road WH, St. Peter, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at the church on Tuesday. The Reverend Victor Capriolo will officiate and burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Little Suamico, WI.
