Lois A. Krug

August 6, 1936 — August 7, 2015

God, our Heavenly Father, called home Lois A. Krug, 79, on Friday, August 7, 2015 at All About Life Rehabilitation Center where she resided for the past 16 years, closing her 45 year chapter with Multiple Sclerosis. Lois was born in the Town of Empire on August 6, 1936 to Norman and Louella (Mehre) Wagner. On April 8, 1961, she was united in marriage to Franklin H. Krug at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Forest.

Lois was a graduate of Winnebago Lutheran Academy (’54). Right after high school, she began working at Kiekhaefer Corporation (Mercury Marine) as secretary to Carl Kiekhaefer. While raising 5 kids and keeping a home, Lois also worked 15 years in the bookstore at Moraine Park Technical Institute. She enjoyed sewing; often making outfits for her children, Barbie doll clothes, and even a niece’s wedding dress. Her cinnamon coffee cakes made on various Saturdays caused a few breakfasts to be made that same evening. She sang in the church choir at St. Peter’s Lutheran church, enjoyed bowling and playing canasta. After retiring from MPTI, she began volunteering at St. Agnes Hospital, receiving a Volunteer of the Year Award in April of 1991 for her service there. During her life, Lois met future NASCAR Legend Bobby Allison, while both worked for Kiekhaefer in North Carolina and “sang” with Kenny Rogers at a Christmas concert in Neenah. Lois and Frank were members of Faith Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.

Lois is survived by her husband, Franklin; 4 daughters, Debora Jaeger, Barbara Krug, Tamara (Tom) Schanke of Elkhart Lake, and Gloria Krug; a son, Todd (Karla) Krug of Green Bay; 9 grandchildren, Daniel (special friend, Heather) Jaeger, Kate (Joel) Symons, Anne (Dusty) Hebel, Tony (Emily) Jaeger, Shane Schanke, Jenna (special friend, Nic) Schanke and Jarett Schanke, Evan Krug and Erika Krug; and 2 great-grandchildren, Abram Hebel and Zoey Mae Rabe. She is further survived by a sister, Mary (Tom) Rauls; brother, Charles (Lorraine) Wagner; brother-in-law, Howard Krug, and many nephews and nieces. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband’s parents, Joseph and Leah Krug; son-in-law, Robert Jaeger; sister-and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Wilbur) Hinz; and 2 nieces, Dorothy Rauls and Mary Baehman.

Visitation for Lois will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 55 Prairie Road in Fond du Lac. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM with Rev. David Haugley officiating. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Faith Lutheran Church, Winnebago Lutheran Academy and/or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

A special thanks to the staff and especially those on 2nd floor at All About Life for the loving care you have given our wife and mother.
